A gem on the eastcoast of England / Ein Kleinod an der Ostküste Englands
After visiting the Boulevard de ciné in Paris in 2020, off2 managed to visit the second (known) remaining walk-in analogue film shop. On the east coast of England, in the small seaside resort of Cleethopes. And of course we took the opportunity to talk at length with the owner of the „Classic Home Cinema“, Phil Sheard.
Nach dem Besuch des Boulevard de ciné in Paris im Jahr 2020 ist es off2 gelungen, den zweiten (bekannten) verbliebenen begehbaren analogen Filmladen zu besuchen. An der Ostküste Englands, in dem kleinen Badeort Cleethopes. Und natürlich haben wir die Gelegenheit genutzt, um mit dem Inhaber des „Classic Home Cinema“, Phil Sheard, ausführlich zu sprechen.
Phil Sheard (born 1952) is a family man, worked as a police officer for 30 years and has been running the „Classic Home Cinema“ together with his wife Denise since 1988. From 1997 to 2004, they also ran a cinema in the neighbouring town of Grimsby with 205 seats.

Cleethorpes is a 2.5 hour drive east of Manchester and has a direct train connection.

Phil Sheard (Jahrgang 1952) ist Familienvater, arbeitete 30 Jahre lang als Polizist, und führt das „Classic Home Cinema“ seit 1988 zusammen mit seiner Frau Denise. Parallel dazu betrieben sie von 1997 bis 2004 auch ein Kino im Nachbarort Grimsby mit 205 Sitzplätzen.
